Feast of Christ the King

Today as we celebrate The Feast of Christ the King we enter into the last week of the church liturgical year. Next Sunday the new liturgical year begins as we enter the Season of Advent.

Posted by Fr. Bill on November 24, 2019

Advent is a time when we prepare for the celebration of the Birth of Our Savior and for His Second Coming.   One way to help us prepare is to receive the gift of mercy that God offers us in the Sacrament of Penance.  This Advent I will be available for individual confessions at additional times than the usual schedule that is posted on the front page of the weekly bulletin.  The following are the dates, times and places where I will be available for Confessions during the Advent Season.

Advent Prayer Books

During Advent we are called to prepare our hearts and minds to receive our Savior. Taking time for daily prayer and time to reflect on God’s Word in the scriptures can help us to be open to the love that God has in store for us. To assist you we will have available in our churches The Magnificat Advent Companion. It contains daily prayers and reflections as well as prayers for the blessing of an Advent Wreath and blessing of a Christmas Tree, praying the O Antiphons and other devotional prayers and reflections. We also have available copies of The WORD Among Us that contains the Daily Masses reading and meditations for each day of the Advent .
