All couples married in the Church are required to attend a preparation workshop. Every Catholic Diocese provides times and locations. You may attend anywhere and receive a certificate. Contact your local parish or Diocesan Office of Bishop for a schedule. (Diocese of Rochester 585-328-3210) Try to schedule your workshop several months in advance in order to find a convenient time and place,

7. Documents:
  • A RECENT Baptismal Certificate from the Church of your Baptism.
  • An Annulment Decree (Church) if you have been married before/OR/another document if you were married before but not in the CATHOLIC Church.
  • Certificate from Pre-Cana.
  • Marriage License (Bring to rehearsal).

8. Meeting with Priest:
Plan on a meeting one or two months before to discuss the wedding ceremony and to fill out papers. Bring documents you have. The Rochester Diocese asks that you meet with the Priest and do a FOCCUS preparation survey for couples about to marry.
