A retreat offers us a time to pray: We can pray any time and anywhere, but a retreat center offers a quiet place where the mystery of God can unfold in our lives in a gentle way.
A time to discuss: Our faith grows when we have time not only to give input, such as during a conference, but also the time to discuss what is presented with others.
A time to share meals
When the early Church celebrated the “Breaking of the Bread,” they also also had a meal together. It was important that the community of believers shared a meal together to grow in understanding and love for one another.
A time to relax
In our hectic world there is a great need to understand the value of slowing down and just “being” in the presence of Our God and one another.
Our Theme this year for our weekend retreats is: “Faith, Hope and Love . . . . growing in the three theological virtues”.
At the root of every Christian are the three theological virtues of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us that
“The theological virtues are the foundation of Christian moral activity; they animate it and give it its special character. They inform and give life to all the moral virtues. They are infused by God into the souls of the faithful to make them capable of acting as his children and of meriting eternal life” (CCC,1813)
This year’s retreat season will focus on improving and growing every aspect of your life through Faith, Hope and Love.
As you look at the tree above you see:
The Roots – our foundation —– FAITH
The Trunk – where we grow —— HOPE
The Leaves – how we live – – – – – LOVE
Come, strengthen your roots so you might grow and bloom in your walk with Christ and other.
