From the Pastor's Desk
1) BUON GIORNO DA VENEZIA - - - Yes, that’s right, as of this Saturday evening and Sunday morning, our group will be in Venice, Italy. We will have already spent our 4 nights in Rome, and presumably seen Pope Benedict this Past Wednesday. As of today, we will have 2 more nights remaining in Venice, and then fly home through Philadelphia and Syracuse on Tuesday. I hope to return to Aurora sometime later on Wednesday. Until then, Ciao !
2) FATHER HUGO MONTERO, from Food for the Poor will be our guest next weekend at all our Masses. You may have seen the posters at our churches this past week. Father will also have brochures about Food for the Poor to distribute next weekend. He will speak about a ministry providing direct relief to the poor throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. He will share what he himself has witnessed about Food for the Poor’s mission to care for the destitute, as one means of living out the Gospel command of the Lord to love one another.
3) PARISH COUNCIL will hold its first meeting of the new year, a week from Monday, September 26th, at 7:00pm in the Aurora rectory. Any items for business or discussion should be forwarded to Bill O’Connor in the next couple of days, so that an agenda may be made up.
